Setting an out of office auto reply
Let people know you are away with an automatic reply to incoming messages.
What an auto reply does
An out of office reply automatically answers incoming messages while you are away, so senders know when to expect a response. Your messages still arrive as normal, an auto reply does not stop mail reaching you.
Set it up in webmail
- 1Sign in at https://webmail.turnerdigitalhosting.co.uk.
- 2Open Settings, then choose Vacation.
- 3Switch the auto reply on, then enter the subject and the message you want sent.
- 4Choose the content type, plain text suits most people.
- 5Set a start date and an end date so it switches itself off, then save.
- 6Allow up to 30 minutes for it to start, then send yourself a test from another address.
If your email is with Microsoft 365
- 1Sign in at outlook.office.com, go to Settings, then Mail, then Automatic replies.
- 2Write your message, set your dates and save.
Good to know
- Keep the message brief and never include passwords or sensitive details.
- Say when you will return and who to contact meanwhile.
- Remember to turn it off when you return if you did not set an end date.
- If you cannot find the option in your webmail, contact us and we will set it up for you.
