Dealing with junk and spam in your inbox
Cut down unwanted email, train your junk filter, and stay safe from phishing.
Reduce the junk you receive
- 1Mark unwanted messages as Junk or Spam in webmail or your email app, this trains the filter over time.
- 2Unsubscribe from legitimate newsletters using the link at the bottom of the message, rather than marking them as spam.
- 3Never reply to spam or click its links, it confirms your address is active.
- 4Check junk occasionally for genuine messages, and mark those as Not junk so they reach your inbox next time.
Stay safe from phishing
- Be wary of messages urging you to act fast, especially about passwords, invoices or bank details.
- Check the actual sender address, not just the display name.
- Never enter your email password on a page linked from an email. Use your webmail address instead.
- If a message pretending to be from us asks for your password, it is not genuine, we will never ask for it by email. Forward anything suspicious to us and delete it.
Still overwhelmed?
If junk is making your mailbox unusable, contact us with a few examples, including the sender addresses and roughly when they arrived. We can review the filtering on your mailbox, change how strict it is, or add senders you are missing to a whitelist.
